Easy Christmas Perler Bead Patterns

A fun Christmas craft for kids. Try these easy Christmas Perler Bead patterns.

I am always looking for a fun and easy craft project to do with my kids around Christmas time.  Not only is crafting a great way to spend family time getting in the Christmas spirit, but it’s also a good way for the kids to make something special for their loved ones.  Over the years, we’ve made more than our fair share of Christmas Perler Bead patterns.  Many of them hang proudly on our tree each and every year.

This year, I thought I’d share with you some of my favorite simple Perler Bead Christmas patterns.  You can make them with your kids and easily turn them into Christmas tree ornaments or magnets.

If you’ve never used fuse beads before, here’s my Ultimate Perler Bead Guide to help you get started.  I’ve made these patterns simple enough that even the youngest Perler Bead artist should have no problem doing them.

All you need are your basic Perler Beads supplies to create these simple designs. If you don’t have any supplies, everything you need (except the iron) can be purchased in this Perler Bead bucket.  It’s worth noting though that these patterns take a lot of red, green, and white Perler Beads.  So depending on how many patterns you plan on making, you may need to stock up on those colors.  Or if your kids are anything like mine they love to make conventional things, unconventional colors.   So colors might not be an issue.

Perler Bead Christmas Gifts

Let’s start off this list of Christmas Perler Bead patterns with something super easy; gifts.  I know my kids would be disappointed if there weren’t gifts under the tree, so I thought I needed to make some Perler presents.   I made them all with the small square pegboard.

I’ve made 4 different gifts, as you can see in the picture below.   Each one is a little different so you can see how easy it is to make and adapt to what you like.

Since we are doing Christmas Perler Bead designs, I made them red and green.  BUT, you can do them in any color.   Think how cute they would look glued on a card for Christmas or even a birthday.

Perler Bead Christmas Tree

Although many of these easy Christmas Perler Bead designs will end up decorating our tree, I still felt the need to make a Perler Bead Christmas tree.

There are so many different ways to make a Perler Bead tree using so many different boards, but I chose to make this pattern with the small star pegboard.

I made my Christmas tree with a variety of green Perler Beads, but I think it also would look cute with different color beads thrown in so the tree would look decorated. Or you  could make it one solid color…oh heck, it will look like a tree no matter how your kids decide to create it, as long as you use the shape in the picture below.

Perler Bead Stocking

My favorite Christmas tradition as a child was opening my stocking.  It was always filled with fun treats and things to play with.   This Perler Bead stocking is easy to make on a small pegboard.  Although I chose traditional red and white, any combination of colors would look great.

Wreath

I love the way this Perler Bead Wreath came out.  It’s my favorite of all these easy Christmas Perler Bead designs I’m sharing with you today.  You need a small hexagon Perler Bead pegboard to create it.  It’s not hard to make, at ALL, but it is the most difficult of all these patterns because it’s easy to miss count on the corners.

Perler Bead Christmas Wreath Snowflake

I’ve seen so many cool snowflake patterns while perusing on Pinterest.   They look so cool when put together in masse.  One of these days I’m going to sit down with the kids and we’re going to make a ton of snowflake Perler Bead designs.  They are easy to adjust, which would make each snowflake look different.  For today though, I’ll just show you the one that I created.

Your kids can easily adjust their pattern to make their own one of a kind snowflake.   It’s really easy when you use the small hexagon pegboard.

One piece of advice for making a snowflake from Perler Beads is to make sure to melt it…even over melt it a little.   It is delicate, and it would be a shame for it to break after it was ironed.

Candy Cane

The best, and easiest, candy cane pattern can be made on a heart pegboard.  My heart pegboard lost a few of it’s pegs, so I had to come up with a candy cane on a small square pegboard.  It does the trick.

Perler Bead Candy

To go along with the Perler Bead candy cane, I decided to make a variety of Christmas colored candy.  Although they are all pretty cute, my doggie can attest that they do NOT taste as good as the real thing.  Yes, yes she ate one.

Santa

Ho ho ho!  No Christmas Perler Bead collection would be complete without Santa Claus, and this cute little Santa is a fun tribute to the man in red.  He’s made on a small hexagon pegboard, and Santa only takes a few minutes to make.

Holly

You can’t deck the halls without some holly, right?  Well here’s a holly Perler Bead pattern to help you deck away.  Fa la la la la, la la la la.

It’s a simple Perler Bead design on a small square pegboard.   If you don’t have two shades of green, don’t worry about it.  You can use just one color of green or use black if you still want to keep the accents.

Perler Bead Santa Hat

I thought I would finish off my list of easy Christmas Perler Bead patterns with a Santa hat.  I actually created my Santa Hat by using the pattern for the witches hat in my Halloween post.  That’s one of the great thing about Perler Beads, they are so flexible…you make a witches hat…change a few beads, and it’s a Santa hat.
