20 Inspirational Star Wars Quotes to help you in your every day life.

We’ve got Star Wars fever in our house!  Between the release of The Mandelorian on Disney+ and the anticipation of Rise of Skywalker our home is currently Star Wars crazy.    

Ok, our house is always Star Wars crazy…but this month we are at a new level.  

I love the epic tales.   The battles between good and evil.  The droids, lightsabers, speeders, spaceships, oh, oh and we can’t forget the quotes. 

Yep, I’m the girl who throws Star Wars quotes out there every chance I get.  My kids are not strangers to hearing, “pick up your visual scanning,” when they can’t find something they are looking for in the house.  AND I’m always saying, “Thank the maker” when I’m grateful. I’ve even been corny enough to say, “May the Force be with you,” when someone sets out to complete a difficult task.

BUT, one of my favorite types of quotes from Star Wars are ones that are difficult to fit into everyday conversation.  They are Inspirational Star Wars quotes. You know the types of quotes…ones that make you think, consider, and may even inspire you.  

So today, I’m going to share with you my 20 favorite inspirational Star Wars quotes.  

Star Wars Inspirational Quotes from Yoda

No list of Star Wars quotes would be complete without the wisdom of Master Yoda.  Even in his backward speak, the wise Jedi throws out many jems. I guess you really do learn a lot about life and how to live when you 900 years old.  

“Do or do not.  There is no try.”  – Yoda

I started off with this classic quote from Yoda because it has to be one of the most well known from the Star Wars Universe.  I bet people who don’t even like Star Wars know it well. The thought behind it is simple. Don’t try, just don’t. Set off to do something by knowing you will succeed and your chances of success are much greater.  It’s like the Nike motto, “Just do it.”

“Train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose.” Yoda

“In a dark place we find ourselves, and a little more knowledge lights our way.”  Yoda

Knowledge in life is the key to everything.  Sometimes we get so lost along the way, but all we need is more knowledge to figure out what steps to take next.

Motivational Quotes from Qui-Gon Jinn

Although he only appeared in one of the Star Wars movies, Qui-Gon Jinn he was still a great Jedi Master.  His time spent with Anakin Skywalker  was full of both insightful and wise quotes that we can use to inspire.  To me, Qui-Gon was also such a wise Jedi, that even his offhand comments had great wisdom behind the words.

“The ability to speak does not make you intelligent.”  Qui-Gon Jinn

This quote from Qui-Gon Jinn was directed to Jar Jar Binks when they first met. 

In the context of the movie, it seems just like a smart alec put down  But the words themselves can mean so much more.  

In today’s world,  where so many people just spout off anything they feel like on social media, I, many times, wish that people would just think before they speak.  Or honestly, not speak at all.  

So, this quote is a reminder to choose your words wisely, because just because you speak, what you say may not be smart, kind or even true.  

“Remember, concentrate on the moment.  Feel, don’t think, use your instincts.”  Qui-Gon Jinn

This inspirational quote from The Phantom Menace should serve as a reminder to live in the moment.  To not only trust our instincts, but also live in mindfulness.

Like his master before him, Obi-Wan Kenobi also had many inspirational quotes that fit perfectly into our everyday lives. As the teacher for both Skywalker, he showed us time and time again that he was in sync with the living Force.  Many argue that he is the greatest Jedi of all time.

This is so true and it is a great reminder to not believe everything that you see in today’s world of social media.  That perfect family you follow on Instagram is more than likely not that perfect.   BUT, it’s easy to feel like you fall short next to them because it’s what you see.  Don’t let yourself fall victim to that trap, and know that what you see is not always the reality.

Star Wars Inspiration from Shmi Skywalker

Momma always knows best, and Shmi Skywalker is a momma who has a couple truly inspirational words to live by.

This Star Wars inspirational quote comes from the scene where Shmi Skywalker is saying goodbye to her only son, Anakin Skywalker.  Shmi knows she is saying goodbye to her son forever, but she also knows he is off to a better life with the Jedi (boy was she wrong.)  She wants him to move forward and not look back; to embrace his new life with full gusto.  

It’s a touching moment, and in that moment, Shmi is helping to give her son courage as he leaves her life forever.  In real life, we need to remember that sometimes we make difficult decisions, and we may want to turn back to our old ways, but we must forge on and start anew

Star Wars Motivation from Jyn Erso

I’ve been a fan of Star Wars since the beginning.  Yes, I’m old. That being said, I think that Rogue One is my favorite of all the movies.  To me, it was great to see the beginnings of the rebellion against the Empire. Throughout the movie Jyn Erso said many motivational things.  Here are a couple for you to take inspiration from.

Look toward the future.  Sometimes letting go of the past is hard, but it’s a part of moving forward.   It’s so easy to say, “remember when…” That’s not always the answer, the answer is usually in your future.  This Star Wars quote needs to be my mantra.

This can do attitude of Poe Dameron is one we all need to take more frequently in our lives.
