Every March we celebrate Irish heritage and culture on St. Patrick’s Day.
If you’re a mom, like me, you are forever looking for simple crafts to create with them for each and every holiday. St. Patrick’s Day is one of those holidays that is pretty underrated, but it’s still celebrated with tales of elfin leprechauns and fabled pots of gold.
Well this year, you can make these easy St. Patrick’s Day Perler Bead patterns with your kids. They will have a blast creating them, and you’ll be making forever memories.
Before I throw these simple patterns at you, know that, unless noted, they will all take a small square Perler Bead pegboard.

4 Leaf Clover Perler Bead Pattern
If you are looking for a little extra luck this St. Patrick’s Day, you might want to make this simple 4 leaf clover Perler Bead pattern. It’s actually just 4 small heart patterns that are squished together.
The pattern is small enough that you could easily glue a pin on the back of it. Then there would be no worries about getting pinched on St. Patrick’s Day for not wearing green.
Perler Bead Leprechaun
You can take a few moments creating this mischievous Irish fairy, aka the Leprechaun, out of Perler Beads. He is really simple to make, but you do need a small hexagon pegboard to do it.
Fun St. Patrick’s Day fact: There are no female leprechauns in Irish folklore.
Leprechaun Hat Perler Bead pattern
If you don’t have the hexagon pegboard to make the leprechaun, you can make this leprechaun hat instead. You only need 3 basic perler bead colors and a few minutes.
Rainbow Perler Bead Pattern
One of my favorite St. Patrick’s Day legends is that you can find the leprechaun’s pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. So of course, in my mind, no list of St. Patrick’s Day Perler Bead patterns would be complete without a rainbow pattern.
This Rainbow Perler Bead pattern does require a small round pegboard to make. You can see that I didn’t use traditional rainbow colors in my rainbow, but you can easily change the first layer of the rainbow to red to make a more traditional rainbow design.
Perler Bead Pot of Gold
Well, we’ve already made our tricky leprechaun, now we need a pot of gold for him to protect.
This pot of gold Perler Bead design is made on a small square pegboard. If you happen to have a large square pegboard, you could easily convert it to have a rainbow coming out of it. Just make sure to start the pot of gold at the bottom of the pegboard.
Perler Bead Irish Flag
On St. Patrick’s Day everyone’s Irish. So I couldn’t have a list of St. Patrick’s Day Perler Bead patterns without the flag of Ireland. Although the design is simple, this is another pattern that would make a perfect pin to wear on St. Pat’s Day.
Perler Bead Gold Coin
Ok, you caught me, I had to sneak a little geek into this post. I know this gold coin MAY look a lot like a coin from Super Mario Bros. BUT, seriously, you know it’s the perfect gold coin to find in the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
Perler Bead Irish Heart
Since I love St. Patrick’s Day so much, I thought I’d create a simple heart pattern in the colors of the Irish flag. You too can show your love of all things Irish if you make this design.
What to do with your St. Patrick’s Perler Bead patterns
I hope that you find a design or two in this list of easy St. Patrick’s Day Perler Bead patterns that you’d like to make. Most of them are sized just right to add a pin to the back so you and your kids can create wearable art. Or you could make them into magnets, like I did with these Minecraft Perler Bead magnets. You could also glue them on to a blank card to send a St. Patrick’s Day greeting like I did in this post.
