For a character of so few words, I have to say that Groot is one of my favorites from the Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Wonder Boy loved him and just HAD to have his own Dancing Groot Funko Pop.
With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 coming out in May, I thought it was about time to take Dancing Groot out in the wild and snap a few photos of him.
The Dancing Groot Funko Pop is so cute.
People who know me already know that I am always the first one to cry in every movie. Guardians of the Galaxy was no exception. In the scene when Groot makes the the ultimate sacrifice for his friends. Oh boy, I was bawling like a little baby as he said, “We are Groot.”
No joke…tears rolling down my face, looking frantically for a Kleenex, sniffling up a storm…big old cry baby.
It was only 3 words, but those 3 words meant so much. Of course Rocket Raccoon’s reactions through the whole scene made the moment complete.
Needless to say, as he sealed his friend into his arms, my love of Groot was sealed.
The next scenes where he came back as a baby tree, sealed Wonder Boy’s love of Groot.
I am Groot!
Wonder Boy has never really enjoyed comic book heroes. Groot and Rocket Raccoon, he really liked. He enjoyed the movie immensely, and when he said he wanted a Dancing Groot Funko Pop, he was granted his wish.
Dancing Groot Funko Pop
The Dancing Groot Funko Pop is completely adorable. I love the fact that he is a bobble head. So when you move him his head seems to bop along to the beat like Groot did in the closing credits of the movie.
I love that he is smaller than standard Funko Pop size. For me, it just makes him cuter.
In fact, I’d have to say that he is one of the cutest Funko Pop that we own. Maybe even THE cutest (although I love my Jawa).
Groot’s smile is infectious. I can’t help but smile when I see him sitting on the shelf.

Aside from his epic cute factor, Dancing Groot Funko Pop is also a very detailed Pop.
- His face looks wood grained just like Groot.
- His body is made up of intertwined branches and roots.
- Cute little leaf buds are positioned perfectly on his head.
- Even his hands show a bit of green detail as if he’s ready to grow.
- Plus, he’s in a pot! How awesome. Although the pot is plain white, it also has dirt in it.

I’ve seen some of the Groot Pops for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and they really just don’t seem as cute as this Dancing Groot.
I love how Groot seems to be waving at me.
